Reconsider Columbus Day

Here's an ad from, which urges citizens to take into consideration ALL of Columbus's deeds, including how he opened up the way for the transatlantic slave trade. It also proposes that we honor, instead, the indigenous peoples who were here long before Columbus.

Since 2007 when I learned that my birth father had Chiricahua Apache, Mexican, and SPANISH gene pool, the reasons as a child that I always 'played the Indian' became clear. Yes, Columbus Day should be tempered with the whole truth.
